The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stresses that personal voting of peoples deputies should be mandatory.

Everyone agrees with that, but only time will show how they vote,” he said answering the journalistsquestions on Wednesday.

V. Rybak reminded that this issue is settled by parliamentary norms and stressed: “I would like peoples deputies to abide by these norms.” He is convinced that there are no obstacles for personal voting, and organizational aspects of this problem have been settled long ago, the Rada voting system operates and allows for voting “for”, “against”, and even “abstained.”

V. Rybak claimed also that he does not support the idea of determining a day for voting. He believes that it is more efficient to vote right after consideration of a bill, “as it may happen that one people’s deputies would come on Tuesday and the others – on Thursday, so they would not know what they are voting for.”

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada stressed thatthe main platform for discussions should be the parliamentary committees,” and the journalists should be involved into highlighting their work. V. Rybak informed that as of today he has referred to the committees 390 bills.
